Okay folks.. it was around 8-something this morning PDT when Marie posted her message telling us about the letter from BA.. She signed off saying that she was going to get some sleep -- but that was *hours* ago and it's unusual for us not to hear from her all day, even if it's just for spam purposes. She hasn't even checked a PM I sent her this morning.
Has anybody heard from her at all?
I'm trying not to think about the fact that she closed her window before going to sleep and what that could mean... |

| Hey Howard, if you're around, you have her number, right? Give her a ring for us if you could? |

Damnit, Marie. Answer us. We're worried sick after the terrible, terrible bloodbath of the past few days. _________________ "Some humans would do almost anything to see if it was possible to do it. | While I live near her I don't know how easy it will be to check on her. The biggest obstacle, short of the lack of a car at the moment, is the fact that I have NO IDEA where she could be found. And I live on the east coast, so it's a bit more of a drive for me. |

The more the merrier. Something HAS to have happened to her.
Hey, wait a sec...what if Marie is BA? The last we knew of BA she had been kidnapped. That would explain Marie's lack of contact. She has been kidnapped. _________________ Having abandoned my search for the truth I am now looking for a good fantasy.

| i believe in the last few posts that BA had either escaped, or had been released by her captors. |

I hate to assume the worst... but it seems like more than assuming now. I don't even want to talk about THAT right now.
Just... can't.
What I want to know is... is there anyone that can check on Bryce since Marie apparently did not make her trip? Where is he staying? _________________ "Mayhem achieved, boredom relieved” - Bruce McCall |

Howard might know. Or maybe Art. Both of them should know. How could they not know where their friend is convalescing?
We have no way to ask Art... anyone seen Howard today? _________________ “All life is only a set of pictures in the brain, among which there is no difference betwixt those born of real things and those born of inward dreamings, and no cause to value the one above the other.” ~H.P. Lovecraft |

It has been a brutal morning. I went out last night to try to shake some of this off for at least a day. I thought getting lost in a crowd might be just what I needed, but I just felt worst drinking by myself. It was the innocence and the carefree attitudes. It seemed so nostalgic and yet so dangerous. Such an easy way to end up a victim. What would I even talk to one of those people about? Do we even live on the same planet?
This morning, I noticed that my answering machine had three messages on it ... from the San Francisco Police Department, where apparantly they've started a missing person case on Marie at the request of her condo superviser. They found notes of her plans to go visit Bryce and called the hospital looking for her and learned of the message I had left there as well.
I didn't care for the police officer at all when I called him back this morning. He almost seemed offended that I hadn't waited until a more decent hour on "just a missing person case." Several windows in her apartment where shattered as if a large bird had hit the glass. Most of the broken glass was inside the apartment, but it didn't take much of it falling to the street to get others to notice the damage.
No sign of struggle. No dead bird in the apartment. Nothing aparantly missing, including her purse and identification and car keys still sitting on the kitchen counter. They assume she wasn't even home when the window damage happened, which I kept TRYING to explain to the detective seemed impossible based upon what she had been posting that morning at the Outpost.
I didn't even bother to mention the Craigslists. He would have crossed out his notes with a big "HOWARD IS CRAZY" scrawled across the top.
I'd rather not give out contact information for the hospital Bryce is at yet. That feels dangerous too. Plus, they don't even want to talk to me, since I'm not family or Marie. They won't tell me about "his condition" except to tell me he is comfortable and fine.
I'm afraid we're on our own, and I'm not even sure what we're up against. _________________ "Perhaps a longer stick is in order." - Unknown Quantity |

I guess our fears are confirmed then. How the hell can that cop get pissy with you!? Obviously someone at the precinct thought it important you contact them since they left 3 messages on your machine! Do they have any leads at all?
At least this means that there is a chance of Marie still being alive. Who or what has her is another question altogether. And not being able to contact Bryce sucks. Not only is he our friend, but he's dealt with whatever's doing this directly and could have information for us.
Be strong Howard! We're are going to get to the bottom of this and make it right. And you are not alone because you have us. If you ever need a shoulder to lean on or someone to talk with, you have a whole forum full of friends. *HUG* |
