Okay, I know that as soon as I post this that B.A. will pop up and start posting all over Craigslist again, but in the event that she doesn't, I think we need to consider the possibility that something may have happened to her. The Orlando postings from her various dream-groupies certain sounded concerned for her. And this doesn't sound good at all:
http://dubai.craigslist.org/mis/405956509.html
| Quote: |
Through the haze. The wave of black rushing toward me.
Huwa yafteahku-l-b?b leelazeena yakhdumunahu |
Before her possible disappearance, she left us some clues that might help figure out what may have happened. These all seem to be related to this mysterious "garage" where she was taken in her dream. This garage turned out, upon closer dream-fingering, to be some kind of central computer boiler room.
Here are the clues:
http://atlanta.craigslist.org/mis/395155233.html
| Quote: |
You run the other way. Fighting. Pushing.
Hoping to make it in time.
Repeating the numbers
fourteen twentyfour fifteen
Pushed to the ground, I help you up. You look at me. You look at the sky.
The moon. Full. Red. Bleeding.
Is there time? |
http://burlington.craigslist.org/mis/401137742.html
| Quote: |
I watch as the door opens. The words written on it blurring by.
McElroy. Garage. F.
They drag me down a hallway. Dozens of doors on both sides.
I hear somebody fumbling with a lock. Struggling to remember the combination.
fourteen twentyfour fifteen
The door opens. The room is dark. I hear chanting.
Praying.
Feathers fill the air.
I'm forced to the ground. My hands free, I search through my bag. For something.
Anything.
My hand grasps the finger. The room fills with the light of a half a dozen monitors.
I computer sits on an altar. Glowing. Screaming. |
http://burlington.craigslist.org/mis/405496564.html
| Quote: |
When I open my eyes, everything is lit by a faint green glow. Slowly, I try to get up from the concrete floor. I hear her finger fall from my hand and hit the floor. I grab it. Through the haze, I see the stored destruction. The broken monitors. The shattered computer. The torn curtains.
Somehow, I know he was here. He took it. He took it before they could find it.
I put the finger in my bag and crawl to the door.
F858.
Down the hallway. Outside. |
So, some questions:
1) Is it significant that these last two are both to Burlington? Who is in Atlanta that knew the combination?
2) Is the "F." in "McElroy. Garage. F." the same as the "F" in "F858."?
3) What caused the destruction? Who is "he" (damn pronouns), and what did he take?
4) Why is this called "stored destruction"? Why a garage? What is being stored?
Finally, we also have this:
http://chennai.craigslist.org/mis/405701333.html
| Quote: |
I sat there, on the street, drinking that water. Her finger in my hand. Staring at the door. Remembering my bag, trapped inside.
Hours of operation: 6am - 9pm
I looked at the moon and laughed. |
The last time we had an "hours of operation," that led to a real-life location. Could B.A. be leading us to something similar again? Maybe we are supposed to somehow recover her bag? Again, she's looking at the moon -- the eclipse is coming this week, after all. |

I did not intend to return here, and I must measure my words carefully now that your actions have drawn attention to my involvement with you in the past. No Edict can fully hold my tongue, and I so return with a warning. If the day comes that I must face some punishment for this action, than we will all count ourselves lucky.
I had a pair of most unpleasant visitors this afternoon, invading the quiet reflection of my sanctuary, compelling me to answer questions. Sometimes questions are surprising gifts: questions reveal so much about the person asking them. Such was the case with the questions that they posed to me. Sadly, so were the questions that Mr. Camacho has been asking, and apparently these two are under the impression that he won’t be asking any more questions ever.
The truly sad thing is that these unpleasant visitors were the good guys, the white hats, the right handed. None of you are their quarry; they hunt bigger game than any of us. We are considered insignificant and unlucky, and these are horribly dangerous things for us to be when surrounded by predators. Even more significant: that they had questions at all. These are not people without means, and the new world order is not typically seen using such obviously strenuous methods.
I told them more than I would have wished, but they were very persistent, and very persuasive, and I have certain dire obligations that I must fulfill. None of us are safe anymore: the twin red gaze rises, the moon will soon be swallowed in blood. And now, duty to you discharged, I’ll do the ignoble thing of fleeing to hills and making personal preparations for if the worst should come to pass.
Some of you will undoubtedly feel some deeply-seated need to play hero; such are the burdens of young blood. The rest of you should look out after your own safety and the safety of those you love: when the chaos begins, you will have precious few moments left for such contemplations.
If the storm passes, if the hurricane breaks upon the rocks and we find ourselves spared? Then we shall see each other again: my fate has become entangled with yours, as certainly as yours has become entangled with that of the prophetess. Even then, there will be no peace at the gates. Sometimes if you stare into the darkness, the darkness stares back.
I leave you with one question to consider: what are you prepared to do once everything appears hopeless?
As above, so below,
Exu |

Well I didn't expect that to happen.
So if I get this right, the world is going to straight to shit on Tuesday. Mr. Camacho (anybody know this guy? Wikipedia ain't no help) and his New World Order white hats, the sort of people who usually deal with sort of thing, are desperate enough that they're scrapping the bottom of the barrel as it were. It's bad and Exu, at least, doesn't have much hope in our ability to stop it.

Whatever we can I guess.
An idea: I'm thinking we should try to make direct contact with the dreamers. E-mailing then hasn't seemed to help, so I'm think we go straight to the source and post something in Orlando. I can't see how it can hurt, since sentryoutpost has already been pointed to by BA, and it might shake something up. Also because I have absolutely no idea what to do with the numbers and names BA has given us, not even the barest of theories. I'm gonna start writing something up. _________________ WHO IS SAINT FENLINE?

I'm not sure what to say. It's not clear exactly what you are warning us against, Exu. You didn't tell us what questions were being asked. Or why they were being asked. You also haven't told us what 'storm' is coming, or what form it is going to take. So we can't really prepare to do anything, now can we? In fact, I'm not sure *what* the point of your little surprise visit was.
I do have one thought about who this Mr. Camacho might be.
DC, perhaps?? |

So I just got this paniced phone call from Marie, and it is because of this fucking thread? God damnit, you fucking old man. I'm going to lose my last bit of patience trying to calm down what you stir up.

No, that's fucking Alan. Political Texan. Marie is still trying to figure out how to reach him, she was hoping I'd have a number. Which means she'll worry even MORE people now.
Not that I was looking forward to sleeping or anything, but the glare of this monitor is shattering what little control I have over this migrane. _________________ "Perhaps a longer stick is in order." - Unknown Quantity |

Poking around for eclipse info found me this nice picture:
from Nasa
Apparently it'll be viewable from where I am, although at like 4 in the morning. _________________ WHO IS SAINT FENLINE?

Somehow the little shocky emoticon doesn't cut it anymore.
That's PoliticalTexan Exu was talking about? The "Camacho" that won't be asking any more questions??? Could his queries to his intelligence buddies have stirred something up?

I've emailed him and left him a private message here. No response yet, but it's only been 45 minutes or so. On the other hand, it's been 45 minutes. I even put URGENT! in the subject line of the email.
Exu, please tell me this was some sort odd word choice on your part. _________________ One man gathers what another man spills. |

Way to crack under the pressure, Exu. After selling your friends out like that, you damn well better help them. Even if a situation seems hopeless, you have to try and make things right. Human nature.
I was under the impression that Alan wasn't really interested in this whole mystery. Can't say I expected him to be in such trouble.
Not sure if it means anything, but if F858 is hex, it resolves to 63,576 in decimal. 63,576 / 24 = 2649. 2649 days from 10/31/99 is 1/31/07, which is when Lucky5 hit a DoD info center, according to Sid's calculator. Too many assumptions to be confident that this is the meaning of F858, though, and I realize that given just numbers, you can usually make them mean whatever you want them to mean. Does 63,576 hold any meaning to anyone? _________________ "Some humans would do almost anything to see if it was possible to do it. Marie, got your phone message and left one in return. Maybe you can reach Alan at that number, I'm surprised Jen didn't give it to you. Everyone else needs to just calm down, Alan is probably just at a fund raiser or on an airplane or something.
It is a big week coming up, let's stay on target: focus on the technical issues and keeping our eyes open for signs that an upcoming Lucky 5 destination looks live. The sooner we can find that, the more time we have to deal with it, and the more likely one of us can get to a nervous sysop and help them document this enough to get law enforcement involved.
Please don't let stress or mumbo-jumbo distract us!

Art, if I'd heard back from Jen, maybe she would have. But I haven't.
Thank you for getting back to me. I called and went straight into voicemail. And he still hasn't replied to my email. And while you might be right about him flying somewhere, you know damn well that even if he was at a fund raiser, he'd reply to an URGENT! message because he'd get to whip out his little phone and look all important.
So, forgive me for not being calm, but did you read what Exu wrote? Have you seen the craigslist to NYC? These are not calming things. Target and focus be damned. These are friends and maybe I worry too much, but I wish they'd just answer their stupid phones already because at this point even happy thoughts and ice cream are not helping. _________________ One man gathers what another man spills. |

Marie, I'm having a hard time staying awake staring at the screen. I'm going to go rest my eyes for a bit, but hopefully I won't fall asleep.
But even if I do and you need me, call me. _________________ "Perhaps a longer stick is in order." - Unknown Quantity |

take it easy everybody. There's every chance he's fine and EXU is just being EXU. (i swear, the dude could probably make a game of checkers feel ominous).
So what's 'Camacho' have to do w/ alan? is that his last name (columbian?) or is he just so god-damned 'Macho'? |
